October 2026 Update - A Year Later, Still Seeing God's Faithfulness in the Everyday
ONE YEAR IN CORPUS CHRISTI!
It is hard to believe that a year has already passed since I moved to Corpus Christi on November 1st! Where has the time gone? I will share a more complete look back at this past year in my December Year in Review update, but for now, I am grateful for all that God has done in this new season.
I also just signed the lease for year number two in my apartment! Thank you to everyone who prayed that my rent would not increase. It went up only $25 a month, and I am very grateful the increase wasn't larger. Thank you for praying with me about even the practical details of life here!
TRUSTING GOD FOR THE RIGHT PLACE
YWAM Ships Corpus Christi is still praying and trusting God to lead us to the right facility or property for our ministry. Last month, I shared about a place we had looked at and really loved. At this point, someone else has a contract on the property, so we are waiting to see what happens.
We don't know what God has in store, but we will continue to follow His leading and trust that He will open the right door at the right time. Please keep praying with us as we look for a place where we can train, equip, and send people to reach isolated communities with the Gospel!
MORE TIME ON THE WATER!
One of the requirements for maintaining my U.S. Coast Guard license is logging a certain amount of time working aboard vessels while they are underway. I had some required days to complete by the beginning of next year, so this month and through the end of the year, I've been focusing on getting out on our sailing vessels and logging that time.
This license has opened doors for me to serve on vessels around the world, sharing the Gospel, and has given me the experience I need to train others who will take the Gospel to isolated islands and coastlines. Most of my experience has been on motor vessels, but as I spend more time on sailboats, I am growing in my sailing skills, too. This is especially helpful since much of the training I do is on sailboats!
It has also been fun to spend time on the water simply learning and growing myself, without the responsibility of training others. And one of the extra blessings this month has been seeing so many dolphins swimming and playing right alongside the boat! What a fun reminder to enjoy the journey along the way.
A THANKSGIVING BLESSING!
I have some exciting personal news! I received an email letting me know I had a forgotten airline voucher that needed to be used by the end of October. I was able to book round-trip tickets to Florida for Thanksgiving for only $57! What an unexpected blessing!
I am so excited to spend the holiday with my family and hopefully catch up with some local friends, too. If you live near Wildwood, Florida, and would like to connect while I am home, please let me know! I am not sure how much access I will have to a vehicle, but if we can work out the logistics, I would love to see you.
I am praising God for providing this opportunity to be home with family for the holiday!
PRAYER POINTS
As we look toward the coming months, I would love for you to join me in praying for several things:
YSCC Facility: Pray for God's clear direction and provision as we continue looking for the right property or facility for our ministry.
USCG License & Training: Pray for safety and good weather as I spend more time on the water, complete my required sea time, and continue growing in my sailing skills.
Thanksgiving Travel: Thank God for providing such affordable flights! Pray for safe travels, sweet time with family, and opportunities to reconnect with friends and supporters.
Personal Support: Pray for an increase in my personal support as I move into my second year in Corpus Christi and have a clearer picture of my monthly expenses. I am trusting God to provide what I need to continue serving here!
A Heart of Gratitude: Pray that I will continue to recognize God's faithfulness in both the big things and the everyday details of life.
Thank you for being part of this journey with me. Your prayers, encouragement, and partnership truly make a difference!
