November 2022 Update - Watch my shocking findings in Europe

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I spent Thanksgiving week sailing to Cyprus. The first couple of days the seas were pretty rough, but by Thanksgiving Day the seas and weather had turned to beautiful. We had a lovely Thanksgiving meal onboard.

My Shocking “Cruise” Through Europe

One would think being in Europe that life would be quite a cruise, but it is definitely the opposite. Life onboard is a very full schedule. I work 6 days a week doing things that are both physically and mentally taxing. We also have activities several evenings a week. As tiring as my job is, it is so worth the hard work to see the fruit of our work.

For this month’s update, I wanted to share with you an overview of our time in Europe the last several months. If you have been following my journey you know we have visited several European countries throughout the summer and fall. It may sound and look, from the pictures I have shared on Facebook, I have been on a European cruise, after all isn’t Europe primarily Christian? What was the purpose of this time, you might be wondering? If you would have asked me prior to this trip, I would have agreed with that thought. Even though in different mission settings, I have heard the term “post-Christian” thrown around regarding a lot of Europe, I thought the growth rate of Christianity was just slightly going down instead of growing. The truth I have found is actually shocking. In the countries we have visited we found very little evangelical Christian church presences at all. The churches we did find are very small and often struggling to see any growth. In the last nation we visited, there are less than 300 Christians in the whole nation. Of those 300, only 100 are nationals of the nation. The other 200 are foreigners living there.

These last 5 months have truly been an eye-opening experience for me. Most of these places at one time were Christian nations. It is so sad to see how far they have come from that place. It was an incredible opportunity to be able to come in and bring the light of the gospel to these nations. We have over 300 Christian crew coming in praying and shining brightly. We bring a shift to the atmosphere spiritually. We have seen God use us in powerful ways. There are some amazing missionaries, churches, and ministries working in these areas, pushing forward through the darkness year after year. What a blessing to be able to partner with them, coming along side of them and encouraging them forward in their task.

I would like to encourage you to remember Europe in your prayers. Pray for a shift in the spiritual atmosphere and for God to send revival back to this area. Also, pray for the churches and missionaries working in this region that God would continue to give them strength and energy, as well as his strategies for taking back ground.

What’s Next?

We are currently in Cyprus until mid-December. This is our last European country. From here we will head to North Africa and the Middle East region. We definitely need your prayers as we move forward into these areas. To follow the ship and our upcoming ports go to https://www.gbaships.org/en/logoshope. I wish you a very merry Christmas full of Christ’s love.

Logos Hope’s Port Reports

I would encourage you to also watch some of the ship's Port Reports videos from the last few countries. They will give you a look into how God has been using us to change lives.
